Lance Hansen
USCG Captain
Instructor
Bio:
I was certified in 1990 in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba while serving
6 years in the US Navy. While in the navy, I had the rare opportunity
to dive in alot of tropical locations around the world. I continued
my education with AOW and Rescue in 1990 and 1991. After finishing
my military career, I attended Commercial dive training and worked
in the Louisiana oil fields. The swamp wasn't for me so I moved
back home to Portland, OR. I received my Divemaster certification
in 2002 and my OWSI in 2003. After teaching a few classes in the
cold frigid waters of the Pacific north west, back to the tropics
I went - onto a live aboard dive operation called Blackbeards
Cruises located in the Bahamas. I was soon offered a position
at a shore based dive operation in Grand Cayman BWI called Ocean
Frontiers. I worked with them for just short of one year when
I decided to make the move to Hawaii to work with Jack's Diving
Locker. I live here in Kona with my new wife Ellen who is a
school teacher.
