Bio: For the past 35 years Russ has been Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). From 1986 he has also been the Chief Executive Office of the Medical Group at UCSF. Russ is an internationally known academician, Obstetrician and Gynecologist and is listed in The Best Doctors in America.

He was certified in 1984 by Jeff and Teri and has been an enthusiastic supporter of Jack's ever since. In 1989 he and Gail formed Laros Diving Inc., purchased and began leasing the now retired Na Pali Kai II to Jack's Diving Locker. Jack's grew and flourished and in 1993 Russ and Gail joined Jeff and Teri as owners of Jack's.

Russ is constantly focused on how to make Jack's operations smoother and more efficient. He also aspires to seeing controlled growth of the business so that we can provide our customers with new and exciting diving experiences. In September of 1998 Russ decreased his medical activities to a half time practice thus allowing more time for Kona living, playing with the three of their grandchildren living in Kona.
