Jack's Diving Locker is pleased to offer the National Geographic Diver Certification. This program is a fun and informative introduction into the realm of SCUBA diving. Your National Geographic certification gives you a full PADI Open Water certification and will allow you to participate in many diving adventures with or without the supervision of PADI Professionals. You will be qualified to plan and conduct your own dives, rent or buy SCUBA equipment, and go on to take exciting specialty courses such as Night, Deep, and Enriched Air.

Our 5 1/2 day program provides you with 2 1/2 days of classroom and shallow water practice dives, plus 3 days of open water dives (total of 6 dives).

It's Fun and Easy! If you are looking for adventure, are interested in marine life conservation and exploration, or just want to try something new ... the National Geographic Open Water Diver certification program is for you!

If you are already a PADI Open Water Diver and would like to upgrade your certification ... ask for details.

Prerequisites:

Minimum Age:

10 years old

Students to Provide:

• PADI O/W Crew Pak ($45) and Video ($27) or DVD ($29), or an O/W CDRom ($62) {Video, DVD or CDRom may be shared}, with a National Geographic Diver Almanac ($32), or a National Geographic Crew Pak ($94) w/ PADI DVD or Video
• Log Book, and 2 passport sized photos
• Own mask, snorkel, fins, and timing device (rental gear is available)

Schedule

Before 1st Class:

Complete blue student record folder
Complete medical waiver**
Read and watch modules 1, 2, and 3
Answer Knowledge Reviews

Day 1 (9am - 5pm):

Arrive at shop at 9am
Review modules 1 - 3
Watermanship assessment
Shallow Water Practice Dives

Before 2nd Class:

Read and watch modules 4 and 5
Read "Dive Planner Instructions" booklet
Answer Knowledge Reviews

Day 2 (9am - 5pm):

Arrive at shop at 9am
Review modules 4 and 5, tables
Shallow Water Practice Dives
Review and final exam

Day 3&4 (8am - 4pm) (Boat or Shore):

Arrive at shop at 8am
DIVES 1 & 2 (Day 3), 3 & 4 (Day 4)
Log dives and complete paperwork

Day 5 (9am - 12noon or 1pm - 4pm):

Review National Geographic Knowledge Review
Answer National Geographic Knowledge Review
Hovering and Navigation Practice Dives

Day 6 (8am - 4pm) (Boat or Shore):

Arrive at shop at 8am
DIVES 5&6
Log dives and complete National Geographic paperwork

The National Geographic Diver Portal Program (upgrade) is Day 5&6 only

** If there are any questions that have been answered "YES" on your medical questionaire, you will need to get a medical release form signed by your Doctor before starting class. You may have the shop fax you a copy of the form or download one here.
