Manta Ray Night Snorkel

Majestic. Inspiring. Awesome. Just some of the words you will be using to describe your manta encounter.

The Big Island is home to Kona Hawaii's world famous Manta Ray night dive. Manta Rays (manta birostris) are members of the elasmobranch family of rays. They feed strictly on plankton and can grow to have a 16' wing span. We are fortunate to have a small population of resident manta rays that like to frequent particular bays to feed on yummy dishes of copepods and zooplankton. The secret that not very many people know is that they are feeding in shallow water and snorkelers are able to enjoy the manta ballet from the surface, while watching the divers and the mantas below.

Jack's Diving Locker invites snorkelers on our scuba charters Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday nights. The cost is $95 which includes all your snorkeling gear including a light. Our boats are also available for private charter for larger groups.
