DIVEMASTER COURSE:
The PADI Divemaster course is the first step in your new career as a diving professional. Divemasters supervise a variety of dive activities such as guiding certified divers on underwater tours and assisting instructors with student divers. This course involves a combination of knowledge development, diving skills, and stamina testing along with an extensive internship program in real courses with real students in real diving situations. The course also includes guiding snorkelers on Kona’s famous Manta Ray Night Dive along with the JDL exclusive Boat Charter Skills training program and three days of addtional boat dives.

Prerequisites: Age 18 or older, PADI Rescue Diver certification, EFR training, medical clearance, 40 logged dives as an entry requirement, and 60 logged dives for certification. Duration: 5 days of course work, 10 -12 days of internship. This course is for candidates participating in the PADI eLearning option. Cost for course $800 (min. 2), $1200 for private. PADI eLearning $205. Additional fees for tax, materials, and application fee.

ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR COURSE
The Assistant Instructor Course is also offered as a stand-alone program for Divemasters ready to gain more knowledge and experience in the PADI system of education. This program gives candidates the opportunity to divide their journey of instructor training into smaller increments that may help with scheduling and financing concerns. Certified Assistant Instructors act as instructional assistants and assume some teaching responsibilities.

Prerequisites: Age 18 or older, Divemaster rating, proof of CPR and First Aid training within last 24 months, certified for at least 6 months, minimum 60 logged dives, and medical clearance. Duration: 4 days. Cost: $595. Additional fees for tax, materials, PADI eLearning and application fee.

EFR INSTRUCTOR COURSE
This course is a prerequisite for becoming a PADI Instructor. Includes CPR, First Aid, and AED (Automated External Defibrillator). The EFR Instructor course will prepare and certify you to teach this course to both divers and non-divers. Duration: 1 day. Cost: $200 plus tax, materials and PADI application fee.

OXYGEN PROVIDER / INSTRUCTOR
The PADI Emergency Oxygen Specialty Course is designed to develop your skills and knowledge when working with emergency oxygen units for diving related accidents. Prerequisites: none. Duration: 3 hours. Cost: $90 plus tax and materials. Emergency Oxygen Provider Instructor course offered to IDC candidates or certified Divemasters or higher. Duration: 3 hours.
Cost: $150 plus tax and materials.

INSTRUCTOR DEVELOPMENT COURSE
The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) is the next step in your career as a diving professional. The IDC includes both the Assistant Instructor (AI) and Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) courses. During the IDC, candidates will work on knowledge development, confined water skills, and open water skills in workshops and by doing presentations. In addition to the IDC, candidates can do two days of complimentary boat diving to observe what the pros do. A PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor is a leader in diving education and teaches a variety of PADI scuba certification courses from beginners to advanced levels. IDC candidates prepare for the Instructor Examination (IE), a test administered by PADI.

Prerequisites: Age 18 or older, Divemaster rating, EFR Instructor, a certified diver for at least 6 months, minimum 60 logged dives,100 logged dives before IE, and medical clearance. Costs: Full IDC $975 (7 days), AI only $595 (4 days), OWSI upgrade $595 (4 days). Prices based on 2 or more, private rates available. PADI eLearning $325 and Dive Theory on-line $100. Additional fees for tax, materials, PADI Instructor Examination and application fee.

SPECIALTY INSTRUCTOR COURSES
Move beyond Open Water Scuba Instructor and expand your teaching skills and credentials by taking this three day course that will prepare you to teach five different PADI Specialty Diver courses: Deep Diver, Digital Underwater Photographer, Enriched Air Diver, Oxygen Provider, and Underwater Navigator. These courses will put you on the path to apply for the Master Scuba Diver Trainer rating.

Prerequisites: IDC candidate or OWSI. Duration: 3 days. Cost $675 plus tax, materials and PADI application fees. Additional Specialty Instructor training courses available for Boat Diver, Night Diver, Underwater Naturalist, and Search & Recovery Diver upon request. Costs vary depending upon course, materials, and PADI application fees.

 
IDC STAFF INSTRUCTOR
Enhance your professional credentials while learning how to teach dive professionals with the PADI IDC Staff Instructor course. This training prepares you to teach the PADI Assistant Instructor course and to staff the PADI Instructor Development course. This course will further your teaching abilities and develop your evaluation and counseling skills through independent study, classroom sessions, guided training and an internship. Upon successful completion of this course, IDC Staff Instructors can independently teach and certifiy Assistant Instructors at PADI 5 Star dive centers or resorts, conduct IDC training segments with a PADI Course Director, and evaluate instructor knowledge development and skills. The PADI IDC Staff Instructor is a prerequisite for the PADI Master Instructor rating, the highest rating before becoming a PADI Course Director.

Prerequisites: Master Scuba Diver Trainer rating, EFR Instructor. Duration: 2 days plus the 7 day IDC internship. Cost: $695. Additional fees for tax, materials, PADI eLearning and PADI application fee.
