August 12 – Get Into Your Sanctuary Day!

Jack’s Diving Locker is joining with NOAA on Saturday, August 12th for Get Into Your Sanctuary Day!   We have events planned on the ocean, in the pool and a movie to end the night!    Join us for one or all!

We’ll start the day by diving in OUR Sanctuary – the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary!    There are a few spots left — call to reserve yours!    As long as conditions allow – we plan to do at least one dive in the sanctuary — so bring your cameras and get some great shots to enter into the Photo Contest.

Then back at the pool – starting at 3pm till about 6pm – for just $25 – Keiki age 8 and above are invited to come join for the Ocean Guardian Dive Club class and pool session.    No previous scuba experience is necessary – but we especially invite kids who have been in a Jack’s Diving Locker summer camp to come back and show off/further develop their skills!    Please take a look at our website for the paperwork necessary – so you have plenty of time to get a doctor’s sign-off if needed.   This event will be limited to 12 keiki – so please call now to reserve spots!

Humpack Whales movie

We’ll end the day with a movie at the Jack’s Diving Locker Town Shop — Humpback Whales.  Join us about 6pm.  Starting at 6:15pm – Bob Gladden of the West Hawai’i Marine Mammal Response Network Large Whale Entanglement Response Team (say that 5 times fast!) will share information on their efforts and be available to answer questions before and after the movie.  Then about 6:30 pm we’ll start the movie and enjoy the beauty and wonder of Humpback Whales!  RSVP’s appreciated so we’ll know how much popcorn to get!
