Becoming a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor is a significant step in your professional diving career.

During the IDC, you'll develop the knowledge and teaching skills needed to prepare for the PADI Instructor Examination (IE), administered by a PADI examiner.

After successfully completing the IDC and IE, you'll become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, qualified to teach a wide range of PADI scuba certification courses.

Open Water, Advanced, Rescue, and Divemaster certifications or equivalent

Emergency First Response Instructor or equivalent
MEDICAL CLEARANCE
Physician-signed Medical Statement completed within the past 12 months.

As you move into professional diving, having access to diver-focused medical resources, emergency assistance, and safety information is an important part of being prepared.
