PADI Instructor Development Course

Congratulations to Juan Chacin, Ed Cheely, Derek Linsley and JDL’s own Casey Nadeau on completing the Instructor Development Course (IDC) at Jack’s Diving Locker in September.  All four candidates went on to be successful at the two-day Instructor Exam, where they were evaluated on their general dive knowledge, in-water teaching abilities, and classroom teaching presentations.  An 8-day course, the IDC prepares you to not only succeed at the Instructor Exam but teaches you to conduct all PADI core courses from
Open Water through to Dive Master.  You become a better public speaker and get really good at demonstrating skills, all while watching out for student diver safety.  If you like people and have a passion for scuba diving, become a PADI Scuba Instructor.  Teaching Scuba Diving allows you to share your love of the aquatic world with others while doing what you enjoy being in, around, and underwater!

Casey Nadeau started working as a Divemaster for JDL at the beginning of the year and had this to say about his experience in the class:  “The IDC was tough, but fun. It definitely prepared me to do well at the IE, and thanks to the great crew at Jack’s, I felt like everyone here was invested in my success, not just Shannon (JDL Course Director) and the rest of the IDC training staff.”  Casey is looking forward to teaching his inaugural Open Water classes very soon.  Look for him on the boat or in the pool at Jack’s and be sure to say hello!
