Learn the skills that will make you a more confident and competent diver in the PADI Rescue Diver course offered at Jack’s Diving Locker in Kona, Hawaii.  The course content covers accident prevention, problem recognition, and emergency management with hands-on training.  Many students find this course to be both challenging and fun and often comment it’s the best course in their dive training.  Divers complete the class knowing they’re better buddies and more aware as divers.  Upon successful completion, students receive the PADI Rescue Diver certification – a prerequisite for the highly respected PADI Master SCUBA Diver rating or for starting down the professional path with the PADI Divemaster course!

COST: $375 plus tax and materials (minimum of two).
Private rate is an additional $250 per day

MATERIALS: Pocket Mask -$33.60+tax* & Accident Management Workslate- $8.50+tax*.  Rescue Diver Manual $47.80+tax* (optional). *Prices listed have student discount applied.

PREREQUISITES:  Advanced Open Water Certification.  CPR/1st Aid Certification.  Minimum age – 12 yrs old.

REGISTRATION: Please call the shop directly to make your reservation at 800-345-4807 or locally at 808-329-7585.  Please fill out the PADI Continuing Education Administrative Document.  Please review the Medical Statement.  If there is a YES to any 
question, you must get a doctor’s approval before starting the course.  Please call the shop for assistance.  24 hour cancellation policy. Changes or cancellations must be made 24 hours or more in advance or full charge will occur.  48 hour cancellation policy during winter break.

WE PROVIDE: Instruction, tanks, weights, light lunch and drinks on boat.

STUDENTS PROVIDE: Log book, Recreational Dive Planner, BCD, regulator, wetsuit, mask/snorkel/fins, and underwater timing device (dive computer recommended).  Rental gear available.  Audible surface signaling device (whistle or horn).

DISCOUNTS: 10% off most regular priced merchandise. $5 off of dives.

DURATION: Two days – shallow water and open water dives.

PREPARATION: Complete PADI eLearning program for Rescue Diver.

DAY 1 (8am – 4pm):
– Classroom: Briefing with instructor
– Shore: Rescue diver exercises
– Classroom: Log dives

DAY 2 (8am-4pm):
– Classroom: Academic session
– Shore or Boat: Rescue diver exercises
– Classroom: Log dives


 The Rescue Diver certification is one of the prerequisites to the Master Scuba Diver rating – the highest rating in non-professional recreational diving.  To achieve this rating, the diver must complete the following certifications: Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, and 5 PADI Specialty courses. In addition, divers must have at least 50 logged dives. When completing these requirements at Jack’s Diving Locker, recipients will have their names engraved on a plaque to honor this achievement.
