Here in Hawaii, navigation skills may help you as you explore pristine coral reefs, find underwater lava structures, or conduct a full tour at your favorite Kona dive site.  You can learn these skills in the PADI Underwater Navigation Specialty course at Jack’s Diving Locker with one of our knowledgeable Underwater instructors who will guide you in academic sessions and three open water dives from the boat or shore.  The benefits of underwater navigation skills may include making your dive plan more effective, putting you in control of your dive, save energy, reduce air consumption, or be a better dive buddy.  This specialty certification will count toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating – the highest rating in non-professional diving.  Rise to the challenge and head your diving in the right direction sign up today!

COST for FULL COURSE: $295 plus tax and materials (minimum of 2) or $495 for single or private class.  Underwater Navigation crew pack $65.

COST for UPGRADE: $195 plus tax and materials (minimum of 2) or $295 for single or private class.  Underwater Navigation crew pack $65.

PREREQUISITES: Jr. Open Water Certification or higher.  Minimum age – 12 yrs old.  Ages 10-11 with instructor approval.  Advanced Open Water Diver certification for upgrade.

REGISTRATION: Please call the shop directly to make your reservation at 800-345-4807 or locally at 808-329-7585.  Please fill out the Continuing Education Administrative Document.  Please review the Medical Statement.  If there is a YES to any 
question, you must get a doctor’s approval before starting the course.  Please call the shop for assistance.  24 hour cancellation policy. Changes or cancellations must be made 24 hours or more in advance or full charge will occur.  48 hour cancellation policy during holiday season.

WE PROVIDE: Instruction, tanks, weights, light lunch and drinks on boat.

STUDENTS PROVIDE: PADI Underwater Navigation crew pack, log book, BCD, regulator, wetsuit, mask/snorkel/fins, compass, and underwater timing device (dive computer recommended).  Rental gear available.

DISCOUNTS: 10% off most regular priced merchandise. $5 off of dives.

DURATION: Two days – Three dives.

PREPARATION:  Read Underwater Navigation manual and fill out Knowledge Reviews Part I and II.  Watch Underwater Navigation Specialty DVD.

DAY 1 (9 am – 4 pm): Come with completed Knowledge Reviews from manual.  Classroom: Academic session, practice with compass on land.  Shore: Underwater Navigation Dive One.  Post dive: Log dive with instructor.

DAY 2 (8 am – 4 pm): Check-in at front counter.  Classroom: Academics and briefing by instructor.  Boat: Underwater Navigation Dives Two and Three.  Post dive: Log dive with instructor.  Certifications issued upon successful completion of dives.

SPECIALTY UPGRADES: If you’re a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, you can complete the PADI Underwater Navigation Specialty by completing the academics and two more training dives.

MASTER SCUBA DIVER RATING:
 This Specialty Diver course will count toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver – the highest rating in non-professional recreational diving. To achieve this rating, the diver must complete the following certifications: Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, and 5 PADI Specialty courses. In addition, divers must have at least 50 logged dives. When completing these requirements at Jack’s Diving Locker, recipients will have their names engraved on a plaque to honor this achievement.
