Jim Stauff

PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer

Originally from California, I discovered scuba diving as a Boy Scout in the late 60’s. Attending college at the University of Idaho, school and skiing were my focus. But after college, I was hired as a Smokejumper for the U.S. Forest Service in Idaho and found myself with winters off, basking in the warm, clear waters of Mexico. I re-discovered diving again there in Mexico and eventually ended up living back in California. I became affiliated with Scuba World in California where I became a Divemaster and Instructor.

A trip to Kona in 1991 never left my memory and my goal to move here permanently was finally realized Spring 2017.

Favorite Dive Sites
My favorite dive sites were 2 unnamed locations out of Loreto, Mexico in the Sea of Cortez. They were spectacular in topography and large sea life and were not previously named or dived by the local dive masters. We called them “Arroyos” or canyons and “Pinnacles”
Favorite Quoe:
“Happy wife, Happy life”
