Bio: Meghan became a PADI Divemaster in Nov. 2017, but through her 14-year diving career has explored the underwater landscapes off five continents. From the kelp forests of Cape Town, South Africa where she was first certified to off-the-desert dives in the Sultanate of Oman, diving and travel have been coupled passions she’s explored (and daydreamed about) for more than a decade. As a staff member at Jack’s, Meghan is looking forward to diving more regularly and sharing her love of the underwater world with residents and visitors to Kona.
When she’s not behind the counter in the downtown shop, Meghan is a dog mom to puppies Spatula and Remoulade as well as a freelance journalist specializing in science and travel. You can find her work in various media outlets including National Geographic Traveler magazine, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Hawaii Magazine, U.S. News & World Report, The Telegraph (London) and the scientific journal Frontiers in Ecology and the Environment.
Favorite Dive: A fortuitous manta dive in Tofo, Mozambique in 2004 that also included spottings of potato bass, jacks, dolphins and a whale shark.
