Patti has been drawn to the ocean ever since she was little! When she moved to the Big Island in 2000, she was certified at Jack’s Diving Locker. She spends most weekends underwater, diving remote sites with her partner, Mark. She has extensive knowledge of shore diving and loves exploring the rugged outdoors. Before moving to the island, Patti backpacked on safari through the beautiful landscapes of Africa all the way from the Serengeti to Victoria Falls and beyond. She has also traveled extensively through western Europe. Patti turned her passion for the ocean into her profession when she achieved her PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor in 2014. She loves teaching and specifically enjoys helping open water students experience the awesomeness of the ocean for the first time! Patti has completed certification in “Communicating Ocean Science” from the University of Hawai’i and as a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer.
