Russell Laros or “Red” knows what’s happening when it comes to manta night diving and snorkeling.  Born into the Jack’s Diving Locker ohana, Russell’s parents are Keller and Wendy Laros.  Russell was born and raised in Kona, Hawaii and spent his childhood on the Jack’s boats or participating in Summer Camps.  He was certified as a Junior Open Water Diver at age 10 and by age 13 earned the Junior PADI Master Scuba Diver rating, the highest rating in non-professional diving.  To achieve this rating, Russell completed Jr. Open Water, Jr. Advanced Open Water, Jr. Rescue Diver, 5 Specialties and a minimum of 50 logged dives.

The summer after graduating from Hawaii Preparatory Academy, Russell took the PADI Divemaster class and now works as a professional dive guide during summer and winter breaks when home from college.  He’s attending Lehigh University in Bethlehem, P.A. and is enrolled in a Computer Science and Business Program.
