Help Us Keep Our Oceans Clean

Jack’s Diving Locker is serious about the effort it takes as a business in being “green.” The company actively participates and organizes numerous ocean clean-ups every year with Ocean Defenders Alliance, maintains the reef-saving Day-Use Mooring System for all boaters to utilize instead of anchors while also being avid recyclers and using solar energy.

Every team member at Jack's continually explores more ways to help the planet and our community.

  • Recycles cardboard, plastics, paper, glass, oil, aluminum, and other metals.

  • Changed light fixtures to Compact Fluorescent Lights (CFL) w/ LED Bulbs

  • Fundraising, Educating, and maintaining Hawaii's Day-Use Mooring System

  • No plastic shopping bags used.

  • Using digital waivers as an alternative to paper waivers

  • Installed solar attic fans to reduce cooling costs.

  • Installed solar water heating for scuba pool.

  • Actively working on Ocean Clean Up Initiatives with Ocean Defenders Alliance. We've pulled TONNES of waste out of our waters and still counting!

Ways to be more sustainable and help keep our oceans clean throughout the year.

As we move into the new year of 2023, it is crucial that we take steps to reduce our impact on the oceans and the planet.

  • Reduce your plastic use: Plastic pollution is one of the biggest threats to our oceans. To reduce the amount of plastic that ends up in the ocean, we must reduce our use of single-use plastics such as straws, plastic bags, and water bottles. Instead, opt for reusable alternatives such as metal straws, cloth bags, and reusable water bottles.

  • Educate others: Spread the word about the importance of sustainability and ocean conservation. Encourage your friends and family to adopt sustainable practices and support ocean conservation efforts.

  • Use eco-friendly or sustainable products: Many products that we use daily can have a negative impact on the oceans, such as sunscreens that contain chemicals that harm coral reefs or cleaning products that contain microplastics. By choosing eco-friendly alternatives, you can help reduce the amount of harmful chemicals and plastics that end up in the oceans.

  • Pick up trash: When you're out at the beach or going for a walk, take the opportunity to pick up any trash you see. Not only will you be helping to keep the oceans clean, but you'll also be doing your part to protect marine life.

There are many ways we can all make a difference to keep our oceans clean and sustainable in 2023. By taking small steps like reducing our plastic use, supporting ocean conservation efforts, educating others, using eco-friendly products, and picking up trash, we can all make a positive impact.
