For full time residents of the Big Island of Hawaii!

Locals who want to add adventure to their lives while having fun with friends and family can join our Kama'aina Dive Club.  The Kona coast offers infinite possibilities for exploration and adventure with healthy coral reefs, lava arches and caverns, and steep drop-offs.  The Hawaiian underwater world is filled with brightly colored reef fish, majestic manta rays, sea turtles, octopus, sharks, dolphins, and more.  Join Jack’s Kama’aina Dive Club and create the experiences in your life that you will be talking about for years!

Scuba Night - Try Scuba for Free:

Want to try scuba before you sign up for the course?  Kama’ainas are encouraged to join us for Scuba Night to try scuba for FREE with one of our PADI professionals. Minimum age 12.  

  • Typically the last Saturday of the month and starts at 4pm.

Kama'aina Open Water Diver Course: 

Let the adventure begin!  This course includes shallow water skill dives and four open water dives from the shore and boat!  With certification, Open Water Divers can plan and conduct dives, rent or purchase scuba equipment, participate in dive charters and plan dive travel adventures!

  • Typically Saturday, then next Saturday and Sunday.  Custom schedules available for 3 or more.  

  • $200 off regular course rate.  Full details.

Kama'aina Advanced Diver Course: 

Go deep diving , learn more about Hawaiian marine life, and dive with Manta Rays!  This course has so much to offer with 6 boat dives that include Skill Review, Underwater Naturalist, Deep, Underwater Navigation, Boat, and Night.   Prerequisite: Open Water Diver certification. 

  • Typically Saturday and Sunday, then next Saturday.  Custom schedules available for 3 or more.  Or join any existing Advanced Class as a third person!

  • $100 off regular course rate.  Full details.

First Aid & CPR, Emergency First Response: 

This course covers first aid, CPR, and an intro to the AED.  No prerequisites, but this course is a prerequisite for the Rescue Diver course.

Kama'aina Rescue Diver Course:

Get ready for some serious fun!  Course includes rescue skill dives along with shore and boat rescue scenarios.  Prerequisites: EFR and Advanced certification.

Kama'aina Freediver Course:

If you’ve always wanted to enter the underwater world quietly, on your own terms, staying as long as your breath allows, then freediving is for you. Freediving is about inward power, discipline and control. Taking the PADI Freediver course is a great way to explore beneath the waves – without bubbles!    

Jack's Kama'aina Dive Club: 

Jack’s Kama’aina Dive Club is for Big Island full-time residents who want to add adventure and fun to their island lifestyle.  Open to adults, teens, and families who live on the Big Island of Hawaii and can provide a Hawaii Driver’s license, Voter Registration Card, or proof of local employment.    Membership benefits include two Dive Club charters per month, half-price standby rate on regular charters, 10% off on retail, free T-shirt, and an invitation to annual VIP party and other events.  Membership fee $50 annually.  Dive Club Schedule and details.

Shore Diving Rental:

Jack’s Diving Locker is well-stocked with rental gear with brand names such as Scuba Pro, Aqua Lung and more.  Equipment such as BCDs, regulators, wetuits, dive computers, cameras, dive float w/flag available.  24-hour air tank rental includes unlimited fills! Rental rates
