Find a new and different way to configure your cylinders with the PADI Sidemount Diver course.  Because you are able to move the cylinder from your back to your side, it instantly takes the pressure off of your back and gives you more flexibility to move and enjoy your dive.

Sidemount Diver Course Details

  • Total Cost:

    • Class, pool and ocean instruction:   $650

    • Student Manual:   Approx. $47 (PADI costs may change)

  • Prerequisites:  Open Water Diver Certification.  Minimum age – 15 yrs old.

  • We Provide: Instruction, 3 ocean dives, tanks, weights, light lunch and drinks on boat.

  • Students Provide: PADI manual, log book, sidemount BCD, sidemount regulator set, wetsuit,mask/fins, and underwater timing device (dive computer recommended).  Rental gear available.

  • Discounts: 10% off most regular priced merchandise. $5 off of dives.

Sidemount Diver Course Schedule

  • Duration: Two days –  Three dives.

  • Preparation:  Read Sidemount Diver manual and fill out Knowledge Reviews for Recreational Sidemount Diver

  • Day 1 (8:00 am – 4:00 pm): Come with completed Knowledge Reviews from manual.  Classroom and pool may be followed by a shore dive today - or we may do 3 dives on Day 2.   Post dive: log dives with instructor.

  • Day 2 (8:00 am – 4:00 pm): Come with completed Knowledge Reviews from manual.  Ocean: 2-3 dives, max depth 60′.  Post dive: log dives with instructor.  Certifications issued upon successful completion of dives.

Things to Know:

  • Flying or Driving to Altitude After Diving:  If you complete the open water experience, it is recommended you wait at least 12 hours before flying or driving to altitude.  If you make more than one open water dive on the same day; or, dive over two or more days, wait 18 hours

Master Scuba Diver Rating

The PADI Master Scuba Diver rating is the highest rating in non-professional recreational diving.  To achieve this rating you must complete the following certifications: Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, and 5 PADI Specialty courses.  In addition, divers must have at least 50 logged dives.  When completing these requirements at Jack’s Diving Locker, recipients will have their names engraved on a plaque that is displayed in our shop to honor this achievement.
